Brat Cat!

I came home from work tonight, and the screen had fallen off one of my windows. Saffron was gone! At 1:00 in the morning I was walking around the neighborhood looking for her, in the middle of a rain and lightening storm. No sign of my kitty. I was praying my heart out! I came home, left a window and a door open for her to come in, went upstairs and called my mom. I gave her a tearful account of the story, by this time convinced that something terrible had happened. Finally we I hung up, I called out to Saffron again through the upstairs window. Just like that, she started rubbing against my leg like nothing had happened! She was soaking wet, and must have strolled in when I was on the phone!

I am definitely thankful to see her again. She's an inside cat, so I trim her nails regularly - she'd have no defense against other cats and the local raccoon. It's amazing she didn't get attacked while she was out. Right now she's curled up beside me while I write this, still washing. Too cute!

Only her back was wet. I think she was tucked in somewhere,
away from the rain, then dashed home when she heard me.

She flopped down in the middle of the floor, and
started washing herself like nothing had happened.

You should be ashamed, brat cat!
