I read a few tutorials, but the way I like best (because it's easy) is to recrop the picture.
- Open the picture in Photoshop
- In the color picker, choose the background color, and select the color you want the frame to be.
- You can use the eyedropper tool to choose a color from the photo if you like.
- Use the crop tool, and select the entire picture. Then let go of the mouse.
- Now you can use your mouse to drag the cropped edges out from the edge of the picture - basically crop it bigger.
- When the edges look good, hit Enter, and voila, the larger area turns the background color you chose!
